Not sure which bed size will fit your room? Below are the standard UK mattress dimensions each size name refers to, plus a few tips for planning the space around the bed. Exact dimensions can vary slightly by design — always check the specific product page for the sizes available on that bed.

Planning the room around your bed
- Leave at least 60–70cm of clear space along each side of the bed you'll walk around regularly, where the room allows.
- For an ottoman storage bed, check you have enough clearance above the bed (or in front, for end-lift designs) to fully raise the lid.
- Measure your doorway and any staircases or landings the bed will need to pass through before ordering a larger size.
- If you are replacing an existing bed, measure your current mattress rather than relying on its size name — actual dimensions can vary slightly between manufacturers.
